Electronics and Instrumentation Engineers or EIE are commonly responsible for integrating the sensors with the recorders, transmitters, displays or control systems. They may design or specify installation, wiring and signal conditioning. They may be responsible for calibration, testing and maintenance of the system. EIE or Electronics & Instrumentation Engineers carry out the task of measuring, doing research, installing, developing, testing, maintaining and designing various instruments used in the industry. With computer aided processes and automation techniques, these engineers formulate ways to control these systems.
The role of an instrumentation engineer is multidisciplinary as one needs a thorough understanding of the operational processes of an organisation. As an instrumentation engineer, one has to work closely with colleagues across a number of functions, including operations, purchasing and design.
Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering is an advanced branch of engineering which deals with the application of existing or known scientific knowledge in electronics, instrumentation, measurements and control for any process, practical calibration of instruments, automation of processes etc.
